Explanation
The Markdown Syntax extensions, starting with CommonMark Markdown Syntax 1.2, let you write wiki pages in Markdown with the wiki editor or the WYSIWYG editor, and import existing Markdown content into wiki pages. They are built on the flexmark-java parser.
Two Markdown syntaxes are available:
| Syntax | Use it for |
|---|---|
| CommonMark Markdown 1.2 | Most content |
| GitHub-Flavored CommonMark 1.0 | Content written for GitHub, such as README files |
To get started, see Write a Page in Markdown. Editing a Markdown page with the WYSIWYG editor can rewrite or lose some formatting: see Markdown Limitations.
FAQ
