Release Notes for XWiki 18.5.0-rc-1
This is the release notes for XWiki Commons, XWiki Rendering and XWiki Platform. They share the same release notes as they are released together and have the same version.
This release brings an improved look & feel for Live Data, as well as accessibility improvements of the navigation panel. This release also fixes a number of security issues, with the highest severity being 9.3/10.

New styles for LiveData table headers
LiveData table headers now have a more subtle and elegant style, closer to what LiveTables have.
Improved contrast on tree navigation
When navigating XWiki trees using a keyboard, the focused element will now have a focus ring instead of a slight highlight in background color.

Front-end links suggestions implementation: An implementation of the client-side links suggestion API is now available for XWiki, it is published in the @xwiki/platform-link-suggest-xwiki package.
Front-end hierarchy packages: The front-end package for the handling of pages hierarchy has been moved from cristal, as well as the XWiki specific implementation of the API.
Instance Id REST Endpoint: A new /instanceId REST endpoint has been added to get the XWiki instance unique id.

Backward Compatibility and Migration Notes
General Notes
- When upgrading make sure you compare and merge the following XWiki configuration files since some parameters may have been modified, removed or added:
- xwiki.cfg
- xwiki.properties
- web.xml
- hibernate.cfg.xml
- Add xwiki.store.migration=1 in xwiki.cfg so that XWiki will attempt to automatically migrate your current database to any new schema. Make sure you backup your Database before doing anything.
