Steps

An administrator can set a new password on any user account of the wiki, without knowing its current password. To change a user's password:

1. Open the profile of the user whose password you want to change, by viewing all users on the wiki and clicking their name.
2. Select "Preferences" from the "Settings" menu.

   

3. Click "Change password", in the "Security" section.

   

4. Enter the new password twice.

   

5. Click "Save".
6. Notice the message confirming that the password was changed.

   

FAQ

Do I need to know the user's current password?

No. XWiki asks for the current password only when you change your own, so an administrator can also recover an account nobody can get into any more.

Is the user told that their password changed?

No, XWiki sends no notification. Tell the user yourself, and pass them the new password.
