Explanation

Administrators export wiki content from the Administration Application, which adds to the formats every user can export one format of its own and the settings that decide how the other formats are produced.

Two capabilities belong to administrators only:

• Export content in XAR format. A XAR archive is the only format XWiki reads back on import, with the objects and attachments of each Page and, optionally, its history. The same export can be driven entirely from the URL.
• The export interface of the Administration, which selects Pages anywhere in the wiki instead of starting from the Page being viewed.

The remaining formats are produced by a service that has to be configured first, and a format whose service is missing is not offered to users at all:

• PDF always works, but configuring the PDF export decides which templates users may choose from and, through the PDF generator, whether the file is produced by the reader's own browser or server-side by a headless Chrome.
• ODT and RTF need an office server, either by connecting to an internal Office Server or by connecting to an external Office Server. Until one of them answers, exporting in ODT or RTF is unavailable.
