Steps

If your administrator has enabled write tools:

1. Ask the assistant to make a change: "add a paragraph about backups to the getting-started page".
2. The assistant reads the page, prepares exact find-and-replace edits, and calls edit_document.
3. For new pages, ask the assistant to create content: "create a new page in Sandbox called weekly-status for the team updates".
4. Every AI change is stamped [AI] in the history and can be compared with previous versions of the page.

FAQ

An edit keeps failing with "re-read and retry"

The page was modified since the assistant last read it. Tell the assistant to read it again and try again. This is the conflict protection working as intended.

The assistant says it cannot write or create pages

Write tools are disabled by default. Ask your administrator to enable them in the wiki's MCP configuration.
