The livesearch Confluence macro  is converted to the locationSearch macro which requires Location Search Macro.

What to use in XWiki

How this macro would be implemented in XWiki and comparison with the corresponding feature

The better way to provide search in a page tree is likely to design a panel to be shown somewhere in the menu in XWiki, outside of any page content.

If you really must insert a search field in a page content, the Location Search macro is the corresponding XWiki feature to use.

See Location Search Macro.
