Release Notes for Cristal 1.9.1

Last modified by Manuel Leduc on 2026/11/03 17:30

This is the release notes for Cristal.

This is a bugfix release of Cristal 1.9.0. It makes it possible to build Cristal for XWiki backends older than 18.2.0.

Warning

By default, the XWiki backend relies on new XWiki APIs introduced in version 18.2.0. Older XWiki versions need a Cristal built from source with a dedicated flag, see Older XWiki versions.

Information

Note for translators: While there is currently no easy way to switch languages, we started extracting translatable text into a format that can be exploited by Weblate. You can already start translating a few translation keys.

Warning

Cristal is still under heavy development.

  • All APIs are subject to be changed without notice
  • A lot of features are subject to limitations that will be removed over time
  • See the Roadmap page to see what we plan to work on in the next releases

New and Noteworthy (since Cristal 1.9.0)

Support for XWiki versions older than 18.2.0

A Cristal built from source with the VITE_CRISTAL_XWIKI_LEGACY_REST environment variable set to true works with XWiki versions older than 18.2.0, using version 1.4.0 or older of Cristal Integration - Headless. See the XWiki backend documentation.

Security Issues

Security issues are not listed in issue lists or dashboards to avoid disclosing ways to use them, but they will appear automatically in them once they're disclosed. See the XWiki Security Policy for more details.
