| Question | How to start XWiki service automatically? I add XWiki to services on Windows Server 2003, but when i start it, it gives an error 1053: the service did not respond! |
| Answer | This is completely independent of XWiki. XWiki is provided as a WAR that you must install in your favorite Servlet Engine. Almost all Servlet Engines support being started as a service. Please refer to your Servlet Engine documentation for doing so. Note that XWiki also provides a standalone distribution with a pre-bundled Servlet Container (Jetty for XWiki Enterprise 1.6.1 for example). This distribution is not meant to be used in production (for example for XWiki Enterprise the database used is Hypersonic SQL which is not a production database. The Servlet Engine is also not configured for production use). In any case if you wish to start Jetty as a service refer to the Jetty documentation. |
