Hi, thank you for this great program. It has great potential. I have the same problem as Stefan, I just cannot make your Class examples work. I've been banging my head against the computer for almost two days now trying to make "Classes" work. So if anybody, who understands classes, is still undecided if he should write about it, please do so. -Jonathan
Moved the details about the question in a comment:
We use XWIKI in our company as intranet-solution for knowledge-management and documenting our projects for about 8 weeks now. We are about 25 people and you can imagine that it's hard work to structure all these pieces of information put into the WIKI.
So I started to look for possibilities to generate new document types, e.g. FAQs with question and answer, BUGReports with description, responsibilities, priority status and fixing status ... (to keep all pieces of information together in one plattform and to provide easy searching access to all this information).
I'm sure that your class concept is really easy to use and useful to do this in an online-interface with a minimum of effort.
Your Demo.FilmClass project is a convincing example par exellance for using this class concept but I just see the results. The way of realisation (the codes and steps behind) are hidden.
I'm not sure but I think your documention could work with more screenshots, organigrams, step by step examples to implement a concrete functionality, code snipplets as readable code and the relating features as screenshot, e.g. the form to generate a new Demo.FilmClass-instance.
My concrete problems in using your concept are:
How do I assign a document type (class) to a web so that every new document in this web represents an instance of this doctype?
How do I 'tell the web' to show a structured document in viewing and editing mode?
How do I realize an index-page as Demo.FilmClass with a dialog 'create a new ...' and with an index of all existing instances of this type?
Thank you in advance, with kind regards, Stefan
PS: I would provide my personal documentation dealing with understanding and implementing your class concept helping me to use it in future ... ;-)
